The Human Eye

In other words it focuses the light rays that pass through it and onto the retina in order to create clear images of objects that are positioned at various distances.

Eye anatomy lens. The anterior segment includes the iris ciliary body and two fluid filled chambers also called anterior and posterior. By changing its shape the lens changes the focal distance of the eye. Small fibers called zonules are attached to the capsule holding the lens suspending it from the eye wall.

Cornea the clear front window of the eye which transmits and focuses ie. There are 6 sets of muscles attached to outer surface of eye ball which helps. The anterior segment is the first third of the eye from the cornea to the lens.

Anatomy of the eye choroid layer containing blood vessels that lines the back of the eye and is located between. It also works together with the cornea to refract or bend light. The lens is a transparent biconvex structure in the eye that along with the cornea helps to refract light to be focused on the retina.

The lens is suspended just posteriorly to the iris and divides the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. The lens is located in the eye. Ciliary body structure containing muscle and is located behind the iris which focuses the lens.

The vitreous cavity lies between the lens and the back of the eye. The lens changes shape to help the eye focus on objects up close. It is situated on an orbit of skull and is supplied by optic nerve.

The lens focuses light toward the back of the eye. Human eye is spherical about 25 cm in diameter. The lens by changing shape functions to change the focal distance of the eye so that it can focus on objects at various distances thus allowing a sharp real image of the object of interest to be formed on the retina.
