Soft palate anatomy. This palate is very flexible. It has no bony frame and is made up entirely of various muscle fibers. The soft palate does not contain any bone but is a fleshy area that ends in the uvula.

The palate is divided anatomically into the bony hard palate anteriorly part of the oral cavity and the fleshy soft palate posteriorly part of the oropharynx. The soft palate is a movable muscular flap which hangs downwards from the posterior margin of the hard palate into the pharyngeal cavity.
