Anatomy Of The Knee Tendons

The knee is designed to fulfill a number of functions. The knee joint is most significantly affected by two major muscle groups.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

The bones are held together by a joint capsule which consists of two distinct layers an outer layer of dense connective tissue and an inner membrane called the synovium which secretes a fluid to lubricate the joint.

Anatomy of the knee tendons. A tendon connects the muscle to the bone. Around the knee there are two types of tendons. The thigh bone and shine bone come together at the knee joint and move on one another when bending or straightening the leg.

It consists of bones meniscus ligaments and tendons. The patella tendons surround the kneecap and the quadriceps tendons are toward the back of the knee and leg. The kneecap glides in a groove in the thighbone and adds leverage to the thigh muscles which are used to extend the leg.

Tendons are the connection between bones and muscles. Muscles tendons and ligaments connect the knee bones. The muscles rest up against the bones will the tendons preserve this connection.

The knee is a hinge joint that is responsible for weight bearing and movement. Tendons in the knee. The knee joins the thigh bone femur to the shin bone tibia.

There are two major tendons in the kneethe quadriceps and patellar. The smaller bone that runs alongside the tibia fibula and the kneecap patella are the other bones that make the knee joint. When the muscle contracts the tendons are pulled and the bone is moved.

The quadriceps tendon connects the quadriceps muscles of the thigh to the kneecap and provides the power for straightening the knee. It also helps hold the patella in the patellofemoral groove in the femur. The medial meniscus situated on the inside of the knee.

Tendons connect the knee bones to the leg muscles that move the knee joint. Muscles propel the knee joint back and forth. The knee is one of the largest and most complex joints in the body.
